Garden and vegetation clearance
We clear brambles, scrub, dense undergrowth and self-seeded saplings from overgrown gardens and land across North Yorkshire and County Durham.

What vegetation management includes
- Garden clearance
- Clearing overgrown gardens, borders and beds to the agreed area and finish. Cut material is handled as stated in the written quote.
- Scrub and undergrowth clearance
- Bramble, nettles, dense scrub and self-seeded saplings cut back to the agreed level. Root treatment or excavation is separate unless expressly included.
- Boundary and fence-line clearance
- Vegetation growing against fences, walls, gates and paths cleared so boundaries are visible and accessible again.
- Invasive plant assessment
- Suspected Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam and other invasive plants assessed so the right management route is agreed before work starts.
Overgrown garden clearance
An overgrown garden is usually a mix of bramble, ivy, nettles, self-seeded saplings and shrubs that have been left for a few years. We clear the area you actually want back, rather than quoting for the whole plot because it looks daunting from the kitchen window.
Tell us which parts to clear and which to keep, how you want to use the space, where the cut material can go and how the team gets in. Access is the usual constraint: a side return, a stepped path or a gate narrower than the equipment. If the garden has been closed off for years, a photo of the route in is as useful as a photo of the growth.
The written quote sets out the area, the finish you asked for and what happens to the cut material. Clearing to ground level is not the same as digging out roots, and we say which one you are getting.
Bramble and scrub clearance
Bramble and scrub are cut back to the agreed level, and the arisings are removed or processed on site as the quote states. Cutting does not kill bramble. It regrows from the root and from any stem that is left touching the ground, and how fast depends on the species, the soil and the time of year.
Where regrowth is likely to be a problem, we will say so before you book rather than after. Root treatment or excavation is a separate operation and is only included where the quote says it is. We do not claim a one-visit clearance will stop bramble coming back.
Fence lines, paths and access routes
A common request is not the whole garden but the things that have disappeared: a fence line, a path, a gate, a shed door or the route to the back of the house. We clear the agreed strip or route so the boundary and the access are visible and usable again.
You tell us what to keep. Established shrubs, planted borders, trees and anything you want left alone stay, and we mark the line before cutting where it matters. This is vegetation clearance only: we do not repair fences, lay paths, level ground or carry out construction work.
If the clearance is for a development plot, a commercial boundary or a specified larger area, that work sits with our commercial site clearance service rather than a domestic garden job.

- Quote. Written price before we start. You know what the job costs and what is included.
- The work. Vegetation cut and cleared to the agreed scope. Cut material removed or processed on site as stated in the quote.
- Finish. We leave the cleared area to the agreed finish. Groundworks, levelling and root treatment are separate unless included in the quote.

What's not included
Vegetation management covers the agreed scrub, bramble and overgrowth clearance. Contaminated or invasive-species disposal isn’t included unless the right credentials and disposal route are confirmed first. How much does garden clearance cost?
It depends on the area, the type and density of vegetation, access and what happens to the waste. We give a written quote after a free site assessment. No hidden costs.
Can you assess suspected Japanese knotweed?
Yes. We can assess suspected knotweed and explain the appropriate management route. Specialist treatment usually requires a documented, multi-year plan.
Will the brambles and weeds grow back?
We cut vegetation to ground level and can treat roots where regrowth is likely. How quickly things regrow depends on the species and the soil. We’ll tell you what to expect and what will keep it manageable.
Do you take the waste away?
As agreed in the quote. Bramble, scrub and cuttings are normally removed from site, and woodchip can be left for mulch if you want it. Where material is processed on site, the quote says so before work starts.
Do I need to be there while you work?
Not necessarily. As long as we can access the garden and agree the scope before we start, we can carry out the work and secure the site afterwards.
