The checks run in stages, and a business can fail at any of them.

Eligibility
Which? confirms the business has been trading for at least six months and has no county court judgements.
Financial health and credit
The business supplies its documents and Which? carries out a financial health and credit check.
Assessment
A Trading Standards qualified assessor works through a business MOT: procedures, administrative records, DBS checks and customer references.

Any actions the assessor raises have to be completed within the timescales set before endorsement is granted.
